About me:

As a dedicated mental health course facilitator, I am committed to providing comprehensive training courses that support learners in connecting with the material, using the skills covered, and putting those skills into practice.

For over 26 years, I worked in pre-hospital care. Fifteen of those years were spent as a frontline Paramedic, and the remainder in various leadership roles, including as a Paramedic Chief. 

In 2014, I began facilitating the Mental Health Commission's Road to Mental Readiness (R2MR) course for first responders. The training is now known as The Working Mind First Responder and has undergone many adaptations, including versions for the following sectors: Sports, the Legal Sector, Healthcare, Long-term Care, Oral Health Care Professionals, and Trades.

One of my previous roles was working for the MHCC as the Training and Delivery Specialist for three years, supporting TWM facilitators. Then, in October 2023, I began a one-year contract with the MHCC Opening Minds team again, this time as the Training and Delivery Specialist for the Psychological Health and Safety Program. Based on the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety and the International Standard, they have developed an achievement-based assessment program to measure the integration of PHS in the workplace. As well as four PHS-specific courses: Introduction to PHS, Building Team Success (e-course), Integrating PHS and PHS Assessor Training.
